2,5 million Romanians suffer from depression
Dr. Mihai Gheorghe, Prof. Ph.D., from the department of Psychiatry of the "Carol Davila", University of Medicine and Pharmacy said yesterday that depression was an issue of public health and that in Romania there were 2,5 million persons suffering depression. He also added that throughout the world there was an increase of the number of cases with regard to such disorder, following that in 2020, depression would be the most frequent disease. In Romania, the depression affects in particular the active life segment, between 20 and 50 years, as the disease starts between 25 and 35 years old.
